The Mardi Himal Trek is one of a new and short trekking route in Annapurna region. This trekking trail is famous for its magnificent view of Himalayan panorama, dense rhododendron forest along the trail, alpine pastures and terraced fields, diversity on landscape and diverse Himalayan flora and fauna. Mardi Himal stands next to the holy Mt. Fishtail, displaying its superb looks. The highest elevation you gain in this trail is 4600m at the Mardi Base camp and the highest elevation you spend overnight is 3550m. This trail goes mostly along the top ridges of the hills occasionally passing through villages which prove its wilderness.

Detail Itinerary of Mardi Himal Trekking Route
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival
Namaste and welcome to Nepal. Upon your arrival, we will greeted by a representative from Big Sky Treks and Expeditions. Our staff stay with Group leader's name display board at the arrival gate and transfer to hotel. After check in hotel, you will be free for your own activities such as a taking shower or rest at the hotel. After that we will discuss about the next day trip and explore city (It is depends on your arrival time )
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley City Tour
After breakfast, according to your interest we will organize Kathmandu city tour, which are historical and spiritual Place in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are consider the World Heritage historical Sites such as Durbar Square (Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar square), the sacred Hindu's temple Pashupatinath, ancient religious architecture Swayambhunath known as "Monkey Temple", the world largest Buddhists shrine Boudhanath. After finish city tour to hotel we will discuss about trek and rest of the time you could use for travelling around the Thamel and shopping of needed equipment and other necessaries.
Day 03: Drive or flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara (800m)
Distance 200kms – Approximately 6 Hours Drive
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu (200km) via Prithvi Highway, takes 6hrs approximately (option to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara, takes extra cost). Along the way we will stop in scenic spots, for lunch and to get fresh as well, en-route we see more about countryside of Nepal that offers greenery, rivers, local villages, farm lands and beautiful mountain scenarios. In the evening, you have option to stroll around the Phewa Lake and local market in Pokhara.
Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Kande trek to Australian Camp (1970m)
Trekking distance 5 kms – Approximately 2 Hours walk ( 1 hour drive / 25kms )
Drive to Kande late morning and trek to Australian Camp which is best View of Annapurna Himalayas range from where we can see Pokhara city and surrounding area
Day 05: Trek from Australian camp to Forest Camp. (2550m)
Trekking distance 9 kms – Approximately 6 Hours walk
From Australian camp to Pothan we walk mostly flat trail then From Pothana, the upward hike continues on the stone paved trail till Deurali. On reaching Deurali, we leave the circuit trail and catch an off-the-beaten trail that heads east. The trail passes through the dense forest, presenting the glimpses of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massif and some wildlife en route to the Forest Camp.on the way we can see Annapurna himalayas and some part of Dhaulagiri Himalayas range
Day 06: Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp. (3580m)
Trekking distance 7 kms – Approximately 6 Hours walk
Leaving the Forest Camp we proceed towards the High Camp. Though the distance is short the climb through the forest of Rhododendron and Juniper forest is quite steep. The settlement is almost nil around this area. We first pass Manjh Danda to reach the low camp, and then we pass the Nangge Danda to reach the high camp. The top greets you with the most spectacular view of Machhapuchhre, the Annapurna Range, the valley of Annapurna Base Camp and Mardi Himal.
Day 07: Trek from Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,450m) and back to High Camp
Trekking distance 10 kms – Approximately 7 Hours walk
Mardi Himal Base Camp is the destination set for the day. Today we wake up earlier than usual to enjoy the sunrise view from the High Camp. Today is a challenging day as the day requires walking on a narrow, rocky trail. Leaving the High Camp, we ascend for about 4 hours to reach the base camp of the Mardi Himal. After enjoying the views from the base camp, we walk back to the High Camp.
Day 08: Trek from High Camp to Siding Village. (1280m)
Trekking distance 7 kms – Approximately 7 Hours walk
From the High Camp crossing the Nangee Danda, a steep descent brings us back to the Low Camp. From the Low Camp, we leave the trail used earlier and head towards the Mardi Khola River through the dense forest. The walk continues till Sidhing. The night will be spent in a tented camp at Sidhing.
Day 09: Trek from Siding Village to Pokhara. (800m)
Trekking distance kms – Approximately 3 Hours walk ( 1 hours drive )
Leaving Sidhing, we now hike down following the line of the river valley, passing various small settlements of Gurung and Tamang people until we reach Lumre. At Lumre, we catch a vehicle that will take us to Pokhara in one hour. The evening can be spent exploring the Lake area.
Day 10: Pokhara Free day
After finish trekking pokhara is a really nice places for chill out , pokhara is very popular for paragliding so suggest for that and you can enjoy the boat ride in phewa lake which is beautiful lake in Nepal or if you like to do city tour we can do city tour and visit most popular places like Bindivashini Temple , Devi's Fall Gupteshwor cave , Tibetan refugee camp , Mountain museum old Bazaar Etc , in evening if you are interested for shopping it a best places for shopping
Day 11: Drive or flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu
After breakfast, drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu(200 km /6-7 hrs). we can enjoy the diverse landscape and scenery en-route. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. We Have farewell dinner in Nepali Culture restaurant
Day 12: Departure from Kathmandu to home
We will drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to assist you for your final departure to your home or alternatively the next destination
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival
Namaste and welcome to Nepal. Upon your arrival, we will greeted by a representative from Big Sky Treks and Expeditions. Our staff stay with Group leader's name display board at the arrival gate and transfer to hotel. After check in hotel, you will be free for your own activities such as a taking shower or rest at the hotel. After that we will discuss about the next day trip and explore city (It is depends on your arrival time )
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley City Tour
After breakfast, according to your interest we will organize Kathmandu city tour, which are historical and spiritual Place in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are consider the World Heritage historical Sites such as Durbar Square (Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar square), the sacred Hindu's temple Pashupatinath, ancient religious architecture Swayambhunath known as "Monkey Temple", the world largest Buddhists shrine Boudhanath. After finish city tour to hotel we will discuss about trek and rest of the time you could use for travelling around the Thamel and shopping of needed equipment and other necessaries.
Day 03: Drive or flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara (800m)
Distance 200kms – Approximately 6 Hours Drive
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu (200km) via Prithvi Highway, takes 6hrs approximately (option to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara, takes extra cost). Along the way we will stop in scenic spots, for lunch and to get fresh as well, en-route we see more about countryside of Nepal that offers greenery, rivers, local villages, farm lands and beautiful mountain scenarios. In the evening, you have option to stroll around the Phewa Lake and local market in Pokhara.
Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Kande trek to Australian Camp (1970m)
Trekking distance 5 kms – Approximately 2 Hours walk ( 1 hour drive / 25kms )
Drive to Kande late morning and trek to Australian Camp which is best View of Annapurna Himalayas range from where we can see Pokhara city and surrounding area
Day 05: Trek from Australian camp to Forest Camp. (2550m)
Trekking distance 9 kms – Approximately 6 Hours walk
From Australian camp to Pothan we walk mostly flat trail then From Pothana, the upward hike continues on the stone paved trail till Deurali. On reaching Deurali, we leave the circuit trail and catch an off-the-beaten trail that heads east. The trail passes through the dense forest, presenting the glimpses of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massif and some wildlife en route to the Forest Camp.on the way we can see Annapurna himalayas and some part of Dhaulagiri Himalayas range
Day 06: Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp. (3580m)
Trekking distance 7 kms – Approximately 6 Hours walk
Leaving the Forest Camp we proceed towards the High Camp. Though the distance is short the climb through the forest of Rhododendron and Juniper forest is quite steep. The settlement is almost nil around this area. We first pass Manjh Danda to reach the low camp, and then we pass the Nangge Danda to reach the high camp. The top greets you with the most spectacular view of Machhapuchhre, the Annapurna Range, the valley of Annapurna Base Camp and Mardi Himal.
Day 07: Trek from Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,450m) and back to High Camp
Trekking distance 10 kms – Approximately 7 Hours walk
Mardi Himal Base Camp is the destination set for the day. Today we wake up earlier than usual to enjoy the sunrise view from the High Camp. Today is a challenging day as the day requires walking on a narrow, rocky trail. Leaving the High Camp, we ascend for about 4 hours to reach the base camp of the Mardi Himal. After enjoying the views from the base camp, we walk back to the High Camp.
Day 08: Trek from High Camp to Siding Village. (1280m)
Trekking distance 7 kms – Approximately 7 Hours walk
From the High Camp crossing the Nangee Danda, a steep descent brings us back to the Low Camp. From the Low Camp, we leave the trail used earlier and head towards the Mardi Khola River through the dense forest. The walk continues till Sidhing. The night will be spent in a tented camp at Sidhing.
